This self-study course will focus on the clinical rationale of power scaling in non-surgical perio therapy, as well as discuss the design, application, and usage techniques of both Magnetostrictive inserts and Piezo tips
OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this ultrasonic instrumentation module, each participant can expect to:
1. Provide an overview of the current status of ultrasonic power scaling options.
2. Understand the role of ultrasonics in non-surgical perio therapy.
3. Discuss the therapeutic objectives related to ultrasonic instrumentation.
4. Define, compare and contrast Piezoelectric and Magnetostrictive technologies, their applications, and their designs.
5. Identify and select an armamentarium for specific patient needs.

ADHA free CE courses
Each of the following continuing education courses is offered via the ADHA and provides either 1 or 2 CE hours. Additional courses can be found on the site for $15 (ADHA members) or $30 (non-members), with the exception of course noted below which are provided at no charge.
The courses consist of self-paced modules followed by a post test. To begin, simply click on the Course Number. Follow the program instructions to complete the module, post-test and submit payment.
